UATX High School Honors Programs are free, immersive pre-college experiences that introduce exceptional high school students to the University through rigorous college-level seminars, engaging discussions with faculty and students, and a vibrant intellectual community. Participants experience firsthand what makes a UATX education distinctive while exploring big ideas, building lasting friendships, and discovering whether UATX is the right fit for them.

Admission to one High School Honors Program is admission to all of them—you are welcome to attend as many programs as you wish. All Honors Programs are free of charge, including meals.
Upon admission, you will receive a separate program registration form to confirm attendance and provide additional information.

Program Information
High School Honors Programs take place on a Saturday or Sunday, from mid-morning through the afternoon. Most programs are single-day events. Honors: Austin (October 31–November 1) will also include a family reception and additional activities on the evening before the main program.
The programs are non-residential, and students are expected to be accompanied by a parent or guardian outside of scheduled programming. Students participate in faculty-led seminars and enjoy breakfast and lunch with their peers, and parents and other guests are invited to join us later in the day for a UATX presentation, Q&A, and family reception—an opportunity to learn more about the University, meet faculty, current UATX students, and staff, and connect with other families.
Application Requirements
If you have taken any standardized tests (PSAT, CLT10, SAT, ACT, or CLT), please report your highest score (or superscore) on your application, below.
If you have not yet taken a standardized test, please email an unofficial copy of your high school transcript (PDF or photo is fine) to admissions@uaustin.org after submitting your application.
Students must be at least 13 years old and enrolled in high school (home schoolers are eligible) to apply for admission.
Automatic Admission
Students will be automatically admitted to the High School Honors Programs if they meet either of the following criteria:
- Earned a 1300 or higher on the SAT, or an equivalent score on the ACT, CLT, PSAT, or CLT10; or
- Hold a 3.0 or higher unweighted high school GPA.
